Barbate is in the province of Cádiz, Spain . A town that is located 40 km north of Tarifa, Barbate is a popular getaway especially in the summer. It is especially the favorite among Spanish holiday makers. Quite interestingly though, Barbate is generally untouched by other foreign tourists.
According to the 2002 census it has a population of 22,150 inhabitants. Villages nearby would include the Caños de Meca and Vejer de la Frontera.
